Rated Money Fund Report™

Rated Money Fund Report™, a monthly online product, was introduced in May 1995 to provide investors with another level of confidence in making cash-management decisions. Rated MFR lists top-yielding funds carrying a triple-A rating from at least one major rating agency and also reviews performance trends, legislative changes and portfolio strategies. Each issue presently tracks nearly 800 rated U.S. money-market mutual funds.

Features

  • Insightful Commentary - Rated MFR follows the latest regulatory developments affecting the agencies that provide ratings for U.S. and offshore money-market mutual funds. It also highlights the most recent rating actions applied to specific funds, such as assignment or withdrawal of ratings.
  • iMoneyNet Money Fund Averages™ - All-Taxable and All-Tax-Free averages, showing 7-day simple and compound yields, 30-day simple and compound yields, 12-month yields, and average maturity in days, are supplemented by subcategory averages for retail and institutional taxable government and prime funds as well as national and state-specific tax-free funds. iMoneyNet Money Fund Averages™ are perfect for benchmarking your fund’s performance and are available for use as short-term cash indexes by banks and other financial institutions through iMoneyNet’s Trademark Licensing Program . Additionally, Rated MFR lists Standard & Poor’s indexes and Moody’s Investor’s Service averages for Government Retail, All-Taxable and All-Tax-Free funds.
  • Portfolio Composition - Compare the types and amounts of various securities held in your fund’s portfolio with those of your competitors as Rated MFR breaks out holdings for each surveyed fund according to percentages held in such categories as U.S. Treasury, Repos, Time Deposits, Commercial Paper, Asset-Backed Commercial Paper, and Floating-Rate Notes.
  • Average Maturity - Study the weighted average maturity figures to gauge how different portfolio managers assess future interest-rate changes and are applying those projections to securities-purchasing decisions. Use the appropriate category average to position your fund.
  • 13-Week Trend Analysis - Charts show average 30- and 7-day yields for Taxable and Tax-Free funds plus average maturity and asset-flow trends during a 13-week period.
  • Individual Fund Ratings - The most recent rating issued by Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s Investors Service and Fitch Ratings for each reporting fund is listed as well as the month and year that the fund rating was assigned.
  • Short and Long-Term Returns - Annualized total returns are reported for each fund for the latest month, year-to-date, 1 year, 3 years and 5 years.
